In the family: For David Stremme racing is a family business. Not only was his father Lou a racer but his mother Cindy could wheel her way around a racetrack as well. Stremme started out by working on his parent's race cars before he got behind the wheel of a car himself. Then in 2004 the family business expanded as Stremme became a car owner for his brother Bobby in the ASA Late Model Series. He attended LaSalle High School with fellow dodge driver Ryan Newman. He is currently single.
Career highlights:
- Stremme won the 2003 Busch Series Rookie of the Year award, despite only competing in 18 of the 34 races.
- He made his Cup series debut in 2005, driving a couple of races in preparation for his first full season in 2006. His finishes in ’05 were mostly disappointing, with his highest finish being 16th.
- In 2006 he fought to keep the car in the top 35 in owners points all season.
- In 2007, Stremme started with a bang, getting into the top 12 in points (the chase cutoff) After the first Texas race, Stremme recorded his first three top 10's.
- In 2008 Stremme made only one Cup start, it appeared it would hen in a top five finish, untill a last lap crash dropped him back to the high 20's. He competed most of the season in the Naitionwide series, recording 16 top 10's. Despite missing all three road course races, Stremme finished 11th in Nationwide series points.
