David Stremme
Born: June 19, 1977 in South Bend, Indiana
In the family: For David Stremme racing is a family business. Not only was his father Lou a racer but his mother Cindy could wheel her way around a racetrack as well. Stremme started out by working on his parent's race cars before he got behind the wheel of a car himself. Then in 2004 the family business expanded as Stremme became a car owner for his brother Bobby in the ASA Late Model Series. He attended LaSalle High School with fellow dodge driver Ryan Newman. He is currently single.
Career highlights:
- Stremme won the 2003 Busch Series Rookie of the Year award, despite only competing in 18 of the 34 races.
- Much of his Busch Series career was documented on the Speed reality television show, NBS: 24/7.
- He made his Cup series debut in 2005, driving a couple of races in preparation for his first full season in 2006. His finishes in ’05 were mostly disappointing, with his highest finish being 16th.
