Greg BiffleCar: #16 3M Ford Fusion for Roush-Fenway Racing
Born: December 23, 1969 in Vancouver, Wa.
Currently resides: Charlotte, N.C.

Career highlights: Biffle gained attention in the racing world when former NASCAR champion Benny Parsons saw him race in the NASCAR Winter Heat series in 1995/1996, and told NASCAR team owner Jack Roush about him. Roush listened to Parsons advice and signed Biffle to a development deal.

  • In 2004, Biffle won two races and finished 17th in the points.

  • 2005 was Biffle’s breakout season, winning six races and remaining in contention for the Nextel Cup title until the very last race. He finished in a tie for second place with his teammate, Carl Edwards, but was awarded second because he had more victories.

  • 2006 Biffle has struggled so far in 2006, though his girlfriend, Nicole Lunders, made national news when she got into an altercation with Kurt Busch’s fiancée, Eva Bryan, after Busch wrecked Biffle early in an April race at Texas Motorspeedway. Bifle has one win this year at Darlington in the Dodge Dealers 500. He only one one more race in the remainder of the season and missed the chase for the championship.

  • In 2007 Biffle struggled to contend for wins. His only win for the season came with controversy at Kansas (see video at right), when he was passed under caution on the final lap by Clint Bowyer, Jimmie Johnson and Casey Mears. Bowyer and Johnson claimed Bowyer was the winner because Biffle ran out of gas and couldn't maintain pace car speed. Biffle claimed he won because the car was actually not out of gas and they had no right to pass him. The race was also shortened by darkness due to a red flag for rain durring the race. A blown tire by Juan Pablo Montoya brought out the caution for the final time, causing NASCAR to stop the race because the speedway didn't have lights and the spotters couldn't see the cars.

  • Despite lose wheels and bizzar occurences at the start of the seaon, 2008 saw a tremendous rebound for Biffle who finished 3rd in the standings after winning the first two races in the chase (New Hampshire & Dover). He also signed a contranct extension with Roush-Fenway durring the season.
