Jeff Green
Born: September 2, 1962 in Owensboro, Kentucky

Career highlights:

  • Was the Busch Series champion in 2000, and runner-up in 1999 and 2001.

  • His Nextel Cup career has been less than stellar, as he has shuffled through four different teams and has yet to win a race.

  • His crew chief was the very popular Robert “Bootie” Barker, a native of Halifax County, Va., and a commentator on the Speed Channel’s Speed News, where he does an editorial segment called “Bootie Call,” and NASCAR Performance, where he talks about the technical aspects of racing. Barker was paralyzed in an auto accident while in high school that left him confined to a wheelchair, but worked his way up through the NASCAR ranks to become one of the best young crew chiefs in the sport.
