Michael "Mike" Harmon is a NASCAR driver in the Nationwide Series, ARCA RE/MAX Series and Slim Jim All-Pro Series. He is best known for surviving a grinding crash at a practice session at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2002 which completely cut Harmon's car in half. He hit the gate that allowed access to the track's infield. Though the crash was graphic in nature, Harmon walked away from the incident. Currently, he drives the #38 Mike Harmon Racing Chevrolet in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, and the #84 Chevrolet for Elite 2 Racing in the Nationwide Series. In the past, he drove in the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series, finishing 8th in points in 1997. He has no wins in either series.
