NASCAR Tracks

The Nextel Cup Series races on a wide variety of tracks, and teams build special cars to suit the characteristics of each track. Of the 36 points races on the Nextel Cup schedule, 34 occur on ovals, which are basically broken up into short tracks (less than one mile in length), intermediate tracks (one mile to two miles in length) and superspeedways (over two miles).

The series also races at two road courses, Watkins Glen International Raceway in upstate New York, and Infineon Raceway in California.

Been to a race at one of these tracks? Write about it on the track profile page by clicking the EasyEdit button.
