Phoenix International Raceway - NASCARPhoenix International Raceway opened in 1964, but didn’t enter onto the NASCAR schedule until 1988. The 1-mile D-shaped oval is unusual in shape because the track’s owner did not want to alter the infield road course to accommodate the addition of a traditional NASCAR oval.
