About: This team came to the sport when Toyota made the decision to go to NASCAR at the start of the 2007 season. 2007 was a rough year as both the No.83 and No.84 struggled to make races (83 with Brian Vickers making 23, 84 with AJ Almendinger making 18 out of 36 races). The start of the 2008 was bitter sweet as Brian Vickers got the car into the top 35 and into the top 12 in points durring the first 5 races. However, the No.84 car was stuggling. Almendinger didn't make the Daytona 500, therefore he got rained out of the field at Auto Club speedway. He then missed the race at Las Vagas. Red Bull Racing replaced Almendinger with Vetren truck driver Mike Skinner for 5 races to try to get the team back on track. After 5 mediocore performences Almendinger was back in the car. He made every remaining race with Red Bull and drove the car all the way up into the top 35 after Watkins Glen. Scott Speed has since replaced Almendinger in the No.84 and will drive the car full time in 2009 with a number change to the No.82.
